Important Announcement

Expedition & Wilderness Medicine started a world movement for medics working in remote and austere locations. We remain at the forefront in all we do and that's why we are changing our name to 'World Extreme Medicine'. It reflects a change in how we as a worldwide community of medics respond to emergencies and an ever widening range of opportunities for adventurous medics... Where man goes, medicine must follow.

This new course blends winter mountaineering skills, advanced expedition medicine skills, altitude and cold weather medicine.
Unlike any other course, structured 1:1 mentoring from our faculty team will allow for greater advancement of skills helping you to gain more from all taught content and medical scenarios.
All food, accommodation, tuition and guiding is included in your course fee.

More Information

The course will start with two days of theory and workshops before we head into the mountains to learn mountaineering skills, rescue techniques and put your newly acquired wilderness medicine knowledge to the test.

During the course we'll have sole use of an apartment building, allowing us to use the grounds and teaching spaces for various preparatory workshops and skill sessions. On day 4 we'll head of on a 2-day expedition in the mountains spending one night in a local mountain hut.

Throughout the course, we will deliver short, focused lectures delivering essential content which will be built upon, enhanced and challenged through intense case-based scenarios. As groups, we will discuss and evaluate performance allowing us to enhance our skills through each scenario.
