PHASE WORLDWIDE requires volunteer doctors
20 January 2010
Volunteer doctors are wanted to help to develop primary healthcare in Nepal.
PHASE (Practical Help Achieving Self-Empowerment) Worldwide, which helps Nepalese communities to become sustainable through healthcare and educational support. Dr Gerda Pohl, South Yorkshire GP, would like doctors of different specialities to spend a week or so working for PHASE, training healthcare workers in basic general practice in one of the eight projects in the remote rural villages.
Volunteer doctors must be physically fit as they have to walk for around 3 days to get to the projects and must be prepared to live in basic accommodation. Contact Dr Pohl at gerdapohl@phaseworldwide.org or visit www.phaseworldwide.org.
