Consultant in Palliative Care Medicine – Queensland, Australia

Head MEdical are seeking a Consultant in Palliative Care Medicine for a regional teaching hospital in Rockhampton, a city which offers an ideal lifestyle and is the southern gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.
The 227-bed hospital provides services to a local population of 65,000 (regional catchment area is approx. 200,000) and also supports smaller satellite hospitals within its catchment area.

The Central Queensland Cancer Centre was opened in 2015 and the focus of the service is: cancer prevention and screening, diagnosis and treatment, survivorship and palliative care. The Specialist Palliative Care service is housed together with Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology/ Haematology ambulatory clinics and treatment, as well as Inpatient Cancer Care. With modern, spacious facilities and cutting edge equipment, the Centre is designed to improve health outcomes and quality of life.
This is an interesting and varied position, and one that is professionally rewarding with a committed team who also take a keen interest in developing their own people through further education, peer support and dynamic leadership. 
You will hold Fellowship of the Australian Chapter of Palliative Medicine, Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FAChPM – RACP) or equivalent, and be registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA) as a specialist in Palliative Medicine.
If you are an overseas trained physician and you have been assessed by the RACP as "substantially comparable", this will be viewed favourably.
